VIP VoIP Partner Webinar: Key Updates, Features, and What’s Coming Next

On the 24th of July, VIP VoIP hosted an informal partner webinar to share the latest platform developments, upcoming features, and future roadmap. Led by Patrick Beaumont and Steven Newton, this webinar presented valuable insights for resellers to deliver more value, improve customer experience, and unlock new revenue opportunities.

Here’s everything you need to know about the webinar.

Web Phone Updates

Web Phone Active Call Window

The latest Web Phone includes a floating active call window, allowing users to retain access to call controls whilst working in another browser window, CRM, or application.

This is particularly useful for your customers to acquire:

  • Easier multitasking across CRM systems and browsers
  • Better visibility of active calls
  • Improved efficiency in fast-paced environments

Meaning, as a reseller, you have:

  • An even stronger product offering
  • Fewer usability complaints
  • Increased adoption across client teams.

This feature is planned to roll out to existing Web Phone users over the coming weeks, and there is already discussion around making this feature automatically available, as it is currently not enabled for every new call.

Web Phone conferencing

Conference calling is being added to the Web Phone. Users can place multiple calls and merge them into a single conference.

The Web Phone currently supports four concurrent calls, allowing a conference of up to five participants, including the person arranging the call. The conferencing is handled within the Web Phone and should not place significant additional load on the telephone server.

VIP VoIP also plan to introduce conferencing within the refreshed mobile application.

Conference call usability

VIP VoIP is also reviewing ways to make conference calling even more intuitive, including a possible Add Person or Add to Call option within the active call window. This would help users build conference calls more naturally and reduce friction during live conversations.

Installable Web Phone application

Our team at VIP VoIP are planning to create a full desktop installer for the existing Web Phone. For resellers, this unlocks:

  • Easier installation for individual users
  • Better microphone and notification permission handling
  • Greater control over call notifications
  • Improved integration with the operating system
  • Easier click-to-call configuration

Web Phone guidance

Steve confirmed that updated Web Phone guides have been prepared for different user requirements, including:

  • A basic end-user guide
  • An administrative guide
  • An advanced features guide

These are intended to simplify installation, login, and the use of functions such as CLI switching.

AI call transcriptions & summaries

AI is one of the biggest opportunities for resellers right now – and our team are actively building it into our platform.

Currently, the system can:

  • Produce short summaries of each conversation
  • Display the summary and full transcription alongside call recordings
  • Pass transcription information into compatible CRM and business systems

Future AI developments being considered
VIP VoIP plans to continue expanding its AI functionality, with potential future uses including:

  • Automated follow-up email summaries
  • Daily summaries for managers
  • Performance analytics and tracking
  • Alerts for dissatisfied customers or potential cancellations
  • Identification of calls that may need management attention
  • A dashboard highlighting the day’s most important calls

CRM integrations

VIP VoIP plans to keep expanding its integration capabilities, including further CRM connections. Patrick confirmed that additional integration work is expected to resume in August as development on the core application begins to settle.

Control panel redesign

Our team are currently working on a redesigned telephone system control panel. The proposed design includes:

  • A more modern dashboard
  • A clearer indication of active users and calls
  • Improved user management
  • Searchable and filterable tables
  • Better performance and usability on larger telephone systems

This will modernise the system and make every part of it easier and more attractive to prospective customers.

Mobile App Improvements for Stronger Retention

New iPhone application

The refreshed iPhone application is approaching release and was undergoing final testing. Updates include:

  • Dedicated call history
  • Access to call recordings
  • Improved audio codecs
  • Better call reliability
  • Branding carried across from the Web Phone
  • Date and time information within call history
  • Global rather than device-only call history

Global call history means calls will still appear within the app even when the device was offline or did not receive the original notification. This change has already been implemented in the new iPhone version and is planned for the Android refresh.

Android application

Once the iPhone application has been completed and released, development will move on to bringing the Android application up to the same standard.

The wider goal for all VIP VoIP applications is to be modern, reliable, and consistent by the end of the year.

Platform Enhancements

Control panel redesign

A modernised control panel is in progress, with:

  • Live system insights
  • Better user management
  • Faster performance on large systems

For resellers, it means:

  • Improving demo experience
  • Making onboarding smoother
  • Reducing admin time

Centralised branding

VIP VoIP is continuing to expand CRM integrations, with more development planned.

There is also a push towards centralised branding, allowing you to apply branding once across:

  • Web Phones
  • Desktop apps
  • Mobile apps

For resellers, this is especially beneficial, as it makes white-label offerings more consistent and professional.

Partner Feedback in Driving Development

One of the key takeaways from the webinar is how heavily partner input is shaping the platform. Recent feedback includes:

  • Improving default behaviours (like persistent call windows)
  • Simplifying conference call setup
  • Enhancing reporting accuracy
  • Improving documentation and feature visibility

This collaborative approach ensures the platform continues to evolve in ways that directly support your business.

Key Partner Feedback and Requests

Partner feedback focused on improving usability, visibility, and reseller support across the platform.

  • Make core features easier to use, including persistent call windows, simpler conference call setup, and a streamlined Web Phone installer.
  • Expand AI analysis with sentiment, keyword alerts, management summaries, and clearer call insights.
  • Improve platform consistency, including saved control panel preferences, mobile branding, reporting accuracy, and feature documentation.
  • Clarify partner-facing offers and provide updates on virtual mobile numbers when available.

Overall Takeaway

The webinar reinforced a clear message: that the team at VIP VoIP are investing in features that help resellers:

  • Differentiate their offering
  • Increase customer value
  • Unlock new revenue streams
  • Reduce churn through improved user experience

From AI-powered insights to smoother usability and stronger integrations, this platform is evolving beyond telephony to provide practical solutions to communication and productivity concerns.
